Below are the questions we hear most before booking a move — how pricing works, what the deposit covers, our rescheduling policy, hurricane-season scheduling, and whether the crew that quotes your job is the same crew that shows up on moving day. Call (888) 278-9005 if yours isn’t covered here.

Questions Boca Raton Movers Ask Before They Book, Answered

Is Safe Passage a licensed mover, or are you brokering my job out to someone else?▾

We're a licensed operating carrier, not a broker. Safe Passage holds our own FDACS intrastate mover registration and federal US DOT/MC authority, and every job runs on our own 8 trucks with our own W-2 crew. The person who quotes your move is on the same crew that loads it — we never hand your job off to a subcontractor.

What's the ideal booking window before my move?▾

Two to four weeks out gives you the widest pick of dates, especially in season or around month-end when apartment leases turn over. That said, we regularly accommodate moves booked with a week's notice or less — call and we'll tell you honestly what's open.

How does your pricing actually work?▾

Smaller local moves are typically billed hourly at $139, $179, or $219 per hour depending on crew size — 2, 3, or 4 movers plus a truck. Larger local moves can be quoted flat-rate by home size: $500-$700 for a studio or one-bedroom, $700-$1,000 for a two-bedroom, $1,000-$1,500 for a three-bedroom, and $1,500-$2,300 for four-plus bedrooms. Long-distance moves to Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, or Charlotte are priced individually based on distance and load size.

Is a deposit part of booking with you?▾

Yes, a $250 refundable deposit holds your date and crew size. It isn't an extra charge — it's credited directly against your final invoice on moving day.

Life happens — can I push my move date back?▾

Give us at least 72 hours' notice on a date change and the entire $250 comes back to you, no questions asked. Storm-related shifts near a hurricane watch or evacuation order don't even fall under that clock — those never put your deposit at risk, however late the call comes in.

Could anything get billed on top of the flat rate?▾

Flat-rate pricing covers labor, the truck, and standard equipment like furniture pads and dollies. It doesn't include third-party costs such as elevator or COI fees some buildings require, packing materials if you want us to supply boxes and wrap, or long-carry and stair fees for unusually difficult access. We flag anything like that on your written quote before moving day, not after.

What's the process if something gets damaged during the move?▾

Tell your crew chief before the truck leaves — Xavier or Dominic will document it on-site. Every load is covered by $1M in cargo insurance, and we handle the claim directly since it's our crew and our truck, not a third party's.

What's your policy if a storm threatens my move date?▾

Every written quote from June through November includes no-charge rescheduling built in for storm systems or evacuation orders — you're never billed a change fee or penalized on your deposit for moving your date because of weather.

Will the crew that shows up be your employees, or a subcontractor?▾

Our own employees, always. We run 8 trucks and employ all 12 team members directly, including Xavier Holt and Dominic Farrow's crews. We don't use subcontracted labor on any job, local or long-distance.

Can you legally move us out of Florida?▾

Yes. We operate under our own federal US DOT and MC authority, which cover our long-distance lanes to Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, and Charlotte. Interstate authority is part of the same registration that covers our local Palm Beach County moves.
